In 1998 I began in the tree service business. It was my first job as a teenager, & was a bit of a family affair. My older brothers were also in the business. I remember the boss didn't want to hire me because I was young, & it was a very dangerous and heavy job. I insisted so much that he gave me the job!
I worked from 1998 to 2002 in California. In 2003 I relocated to Oklahoma City & I tried other jobs, but nothing compared to the tree service business. One day I met Don with Don's Tree Service (based in Edmond) & asked for a job. He asked me what I knew. I said “Try me out and you'll see!”
Apparently, he was surprised & pleased with my work, offering me a job the following day. I worked for him for a few years, & would often talk to him about wanting to start my own business. He always supported my idea, & even gave me a few side jobs. Over the years, I worked at other tree service companies around OKC, but always held on to the dream of starting my own business one day.
That dream came true in 2004 when I founded Salas Tree Service.
Since then I’ve been servicing OKC because I love my craft, & my clients remain happy with my work. Today we continue to satisfy the needs of our clients in the metro & surrounding areas.
This has become a family business where my wife, brothers, nephews, & now my sons can keep the dream alive! We started with a few, but now have three working crews daily. Friendly service & a love for what we do is always on the mind as we keep growing!
